Man threatened woman with gun, fired shots outside west Lincoln home, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was caught Tuesday after he fired a gun outside of a west Lincoln home last weekend.

On Sunday, officers were sent to the home near Southwest 13th and West South streets around 11:30 a.m. on a report of a weapons violation.

When officers arrived, they spoke with a woman who said 23-year-old Zayne Trujillo had waved a gun at her.

He then fired a gun twice outside of the home and drove off, police said.

During an investigation, officers found a vehicle that had damage to its driver’s side and rear windows.  A spent shell casing was also located.

Police estimate the vehicle had $700 in damage.

On Tuesday, officers found Trujillo at his home around 6:30 p.m. and took him into custody.

He was arrested on suspicion of using a deadly weapon to commit a felony, terroristic threats and possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person.
