Man tried flushing meth down toilet before arrest at Grand Island home, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man hid drugs and pipes in a toilet Monday before officers searched a Grand Island home, police say.

Around 2:30 p.m., officers served a search warrant at a home near St. Paul Road and East 18th Street in a theft investigation.

During the search, Dairon Rodriguez admitted to flushing meth and drug paraphernalia down the toilet, according to police.

But the flushing was only “partially successful,” police said.  Officers found pipes and a small amount of meth in the toilet.

Investigators said they also discovered stolen tools, worth over $5,000, from a burglary in Lexington.

Rodriguez tried selling some of the tools on social media, police said.

He was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence.
