Man tried stabbing Lincoln gas station employee with box cutter, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man cut himself Monday when he tried to stab a Lincoln gas station employee with a box cutter, police say.
Before 11:20 a.m., 41-year-old Jason Benson entered the Super C near 17th and L Streets. He bought food and then started to eat inside the store, according to police.
An employee informed Benson that he couldn’t eat inside, which is the store’s policy, and asked him to leave.
Police say Benson then got upset and pulled out a box cutter and tried to stab the employee in the chest.
When the employee was hit by the box cutter, the knife folded upon itself and cut Benson’s finger, according to police
Benson was later arrested on suspicion of terroristic threats. He was also cited on suspicion of the use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
The employee was not injured, police say.
