LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man is accused of trying to stab multiple people with a screwdriver during a Sunday night argument.

The Grand Island Police Department says this happened near South Walnut and West Charles Streets, around 8:15 p.m.

Witnesses told officers Mohamed Abshir and Mohamed Ahmed were arguing outside of an apartment complex.

Abshir eventually punched Ahmed in the face, who retaliated by trying to stab Abshir multiple times with a 7-inch screwdriver.

A bystander attempted to break things up, but Ahmed rushed at him as well.

The bystander says he feared for his life even though the attack was unsuccessful.

Ahmed has since been arrested for terroristic threats and use of a weapon to commit a felony.  He also fractured his left orbital bone.

Abshir was arrested for 1st degree assault.
