Man tried to get 12-year-old into his car, Lincoln Police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man tried to abduct a girl in 12-year-old girl in central Lincoln on Thursday, police say.

About 3:45 p.m., a car approached the girl while she was walking along Washington Street between 35th and 37th streets.

The driver rolled down the window and tried to get the girl to come into his car, according to the Lincoln Police Department.

The girl ran away and told a trusted adult what happened, police said.

LPD said the car was last seen driving north on 37th from Washington.

It is a four-door white sedan that may have a missing front fender on the driver’s side and rust around the wheel wells.

Police urged anyone with information or video of the incident to call 402-441-6000.
