Man who kidnapped, assaulted two at Lincoln warehouse is sentenced
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man will spend several decades in prison for kidnapping and assaulting two people last year.
Tanner Danielson, 31, was sentenced Wednesday in Lancaster County District Court to up to 45 years in prison.
He was convicted of attempted kidnapping and first-degree sexual assault, according to court documents.
Danielson will be eligible for parole after serving 35 years in prison.
On July 29, 2022, the Lincoln Police Department was notified of an injured man, who was in handcuffs, walking down a rural road.
During the investigation, officers learned that Danielson and 27-year-old Austin Widhalm had kidnapped a man and a woman.
They were taken to a north Lincoln warehouse, where they were beaten and sexually assaulted, according to police.
Later that same day, Widhalm was arrested at his home.
On Aug. 1, 2022, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Danielson in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Last month, Widhalm pleaded no contest to second-degree assault and first-degree false imprisonment. His sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 14, court documents say.
