LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Monday in a robbery last week at a northeast Lincoln Walmart, police say.

On Friday around 7 p.m., officers responded to Walmart near 84th and Adams streets on a report of a shoplift.

An employee had tried to confront 37-year-old Derek Walton, who was trying to steal around $80 worth of goods, police said.

Walton pulled a knife on the employee before leaving the store, according to police.

By the time officers arrived, Walton had left the area.

On Monday, officers took Walton into custody near 35th Street and Cornhusker Highway.

He was arrested on suspicion of robbery and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
