LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A 45-year-old Lincoln man shot at officers Tuesday at a northwest Lincoln gas station, police say.

The man shot at the first officer who arrived, who returned fire, police said.
Two employees at the store barricaded themselves in a back room as the man and police continued exchanging gunfire, Morrow said.
“Our actions were based on his actions,” she said.
The man was shot in the upper chest, according to Morrow, before the SWAT team took him into custody.
His injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
No officers, customers or employees were injured, according to police.
Two LPD officers and a Nebraska State Patrol investigator were in the store, Morrow said. They will be placed on administrative leave.
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the shooting.
Law enforcement will be on the scene for several hours, but the roads in the area are back open.
A police spokeswoman said the sheriff’s office will be the lead investigating agency.
Authorities will hold a press conference at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
