Manhunt ends peacefully in Lincoln railcar

The following was released by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department:

On August 29th, 2015 Adam Cervenka and Andraya Carroll were stopped by

Lancaster County Deputies driving a 2015 Hyundai bearing IL plates V785852

for several traffic infractions near mile marker 395 on Interstate 80.

During the stop, deputies developed probable cause to search the vehicle

when Carroll stated she had marijuana chocolate in her purse. Deputies

later located a total of 140.04 grams of methamphetamine in a concealment

Doritos’s can and in a brief case. Also located in the vehicle were

numerous items of drug paraphernalia including a clear, glass pipe with

drug residue and multiple used syringes. There was also an open bottle of

Vodka that was 1/3 full under Carroll’s seat.

Prior to being placed into custody, Cervenka fled the scene on foot. A

perimeter was set up and an extensive search was conducted by the Lancaster

County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska State Patrol, and the Lincoln Police

Department. K9’s from both the Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State

Patrol, as well as the Nebraska State Patrol helicopter were utilized in

the search. Cervenka was tracked and located approximately 3 hours later in

the Burlington Northern train yard in Lincoln, hiding on a train car just

south of Hwy 77 and West O Street.

Carroll was lodged in jail for possession of a controlled substance and

cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, open alcohol container and

possession of marijuana less than 1 oz.

Cervenka was lodged for possession with intent to deliver, possession of

drug paraphernalia, obstructing, and 2nd degree trespassing on Burlington

Northern Property.
