Marcus Theatres to offer subscription service to moviegoers

Each city will be offered a different plan so the company can understand which subscription plan consumers prefer.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Marcus Theatres is testing a new subscription program in Lincoln and Omaha that will be launched on Friday.

Each city will be offered a different plan so the company can understand which subscription plan consumers prefer when they launch the full-scale subscription later this year.

“We are testing one plan in Lincoln and the other in Omaha. Both plans allow subscribers to enjoy movies more frequently and take advantage of additional benefits just by joining,” says Rolando Rodriguez, the chairman, president, and CEO of Marcus Theatres.

For moviegoers in Lincoln, they can pay $9.99 a month for the MovieFlex plan. In Omaha, they offer the MovieFlex+ plan for $14.99.

Both plans offer discounts on movies and concessions, but they have different features in subscriber benefits. You can find the full plan details on the MovieFlex website.

“Our guests have asked for a subscription program and we are excited to take this next step,” says Rodriguez.

For everyone who subscribes by the end of January, they will receive an eGift card for $15. The MovieFlex plans use the Marcus Theatres mobile app exclusively to manage the accounts and benefits.
