Marriott hosting root beer socials during August for a good cause

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Marriott hotels will be honoring their roots with events surrounding a classic treat that the whole family will love.

To honor its founders’ legacy, Marriott will host Root Beer Float socials during August that benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

The Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Lincoln will be hosting one of these socials this Friday, starting at 2 p.m.

This Sunday is National Root Beer Float Day, which holds a special place for Marriott.

Founders J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott launched their 9-seat A&W Root Beer stand in Washington, D.C. to cool off from the summer heat.

From there, the Marriott family expanded their business into what we know today as a leader in the hospitality industry.

All funds raised go to the local member hospitals, ensuring kids in those communities receive the best possible care.
