Matt Talbot celebrates ‘Holiday Around the World’ with food from different cultures
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach held a “Holiday Around the World” event during lunch Thursday.
The organization hosts some form of holiday celebration every year, but this is the first year it’s served four different cuisines.
La Paz, Chopsticks, Billy’s and a member of the India Association of Nebraska-Lincoln donated food.
Having food from different cultures brings inclusivity to the kitchen, and guests from all walks of life get to enjoy meals and company.
“Some foods are familiar to some, and some are new, and I think that’s really what we’re here for,” Executive Director Alynn Sampson said. “I just love that community feeling of inclusivity and just sharing different cultures, sharing different foods and just what happens when you share a meal with someone that you may not know,” she said.
Sampson said the public is always invited to come by, eat a meal there and learn more about Matt Talbot and the people it helps.
