LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The “Voice of the Huskers” has received a special honor.

The Nebraska athletic department said on social media Tuesday that the radio booth at Memorial Stadium has been named after Greg Sharpe, “the ultimate Husker.”

NU shared a video of Sharpe’s reaction to the dedication.

“Holy crap!” he said when he saw his name outside the booth.

Sharpe was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in April.

He is the play-by-play announcer for Nebraska football and baseball.
