LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln woman with meth in her fanny pack was sentenced Friday to 10 years in prison.

U.S. District Judge John M. Gerrard sentenced Sarah Baldwin, 31, in federal court in Lincoln, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Monday.

Baldwin was arrested in February 2022.

A deputy with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office stopped to assist an SUV that was stopped on the shoulder of Interstate 80 for a mechanical problem.

The deputy found out that Baldwin, a passenger, had stolen the vehicle and had a warrant out for her arrest.

She was then arrested, and while she was in jail, investigators listened to her phone calls.

Baldwin asked her mother and a friend to get a fanny pack out of the SUV.

Investigators got consent from the owner and searched the SUV.

They found the fanny pack, which had around 100 grams of meth, about 3.5 ounces, in it.

She was convicted of possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

After prison, she will spend five years on supervised release.
