Midday Interview: Food Bank of Lincoln thanks volunteers

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — This is National Volunteer Month, and the Food Bank of Lincoln stopped by the Channel 8 studio Friday to discuss all the good that volunteers do for the nonprofit.

So far this year, 6,500 volunteers have contributed more than 30,000 hours to the food bank, President and CEO Michaella Kumke said.

Next weekend, it’s partnering with Lincoln Public Schools for the Extra Mile Walk, which will fundraise to end child hunger in our community.

If you’d like to volunteer or donate, visit the food bank’s website.
