Mild Temperatures Following Sunday Morning Storms

Heavy rains fell across southeast Nebraska early Sunday morning in the latest round of severe weather to hit our area.

Portions of Nuckolls County reported over 4 inches of rain with these storms. The Lincoln airport received 3.16 inches of rain between midnight and 6 a.m. This is a new single-day precipitation record for August 10, with the previous record set on August 10, 1968 at 1.33″.

Df Lincoln Today Hour By Hour

Much cooler temperatures on Sunday in the Capital City with highs today in the lower 80s. Partly sunny skies and winds out of the north at 5 to 10 miles per hour.

Storm chances remain possible for southwest Nebraska this evening, with Stormcast showing a line of storms over the region by 10 p.m. Sunday night.

The Storm Prediction Center does have a MARGINAL RISK (Level 1 out of 5) for southwest Nebraska for small chances of seeing quarter-size hail and 60+ mile per hour wind gusts.

Low temperatures across southeast Nebraska tonight fall to the lower and middle 60s with partly cloudy skies. A stray sprinkle or two will be possible, with winds out of the northeast at 5 to 10 miles per hour.

Tonight, Lincoln will drop into the middle 60s with partly cloudy skies. A northerly wind and small chances for precipitation through the overnight and into Monday morning.

Df Dma Tomorrow High

Another mild day ahead on Monday for southeast Nebraska. High temperatures will reach the upper 70s and lower 80s with partly sunny skies and a northeasterly wind.

High temperatures in Lincoln will be well below average on Monday with partly sunny skies. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible with a light breeze from the northeast.

Df 10 Day Forecast

The first half of the work week remains mild before near-average temperatures return on Wednesday into the upper 80s. We will see the lower 90s by the end of the upcoming work week, with mostly sunny skies. Precipitation chances could ramp up towards the end of next weekend, but forecast confidence remains low this far in advance.
