Mild Temperatures For July 1, Storm Chances West
Forecast:
Overnight low temperatures for southeast Nebraska will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s, which puts us about five degrees below the average low temperature.
For the start of July, high temperatures will remain right around average in the upper 80s. A few clouds will be possible, with winds out of the northwest.
The morning commute in the Capital City should remain mild with mostly clear skies. We are up into the 80s around the lunch hour before reaching a high in the mid-80s right around 3 p.m.
Storm chances will be possible during the late evening on Tuesday for portions of western and southwestern Nebraska. The Storm Prediction Center currently has the panhandle in a Marginal (Level 1 out of 5) Risk, where small chances of large hail and damaging winds accompany Tuesday evening’s storms.
Our break from the 90s is short, as the heat returns on Wednesday. Small chances for showers and thunderstorms span from Thursday until next Monday. For Independence Day, hot with highs in the mid-90s and a chance for an evening storm. Highs in the 90s look to stick with us for the rest of the extended forecast.
