Minnesota man caught with stolen gun in Lincoln gets over two years in prison

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Minnesota man will spend over two years behind bars after he was caught in Lincoln with a stolen gun, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
Ossie Bradley, 52, was sentenced Thursday to 2½ years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
On Aug. 17, 2021, a Lincoln Police officer pulled over Bradley for a traffic violation on Interstate 80.
During the traffic stop, the officer smelled “burnt marijuana” coming from the car, the attorney’s office said.
The officer then asked Bradley to come back to his patrol car to get a traffic warning.
Before Bradley got into the patrol car, the officer patted him down and found a handgun tucked in a small holster.
The gun, which was loaded, had been reported stolen out of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
Since Bradley had been previously convicted of several felonies, he was prohibited from having a gun.
After his prison sentence, Bradley will serve a three-year term of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
