Missing Nebraska woman found alive in rural Nance County

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A missing Nance County woman was found Friday.

According to the Nance County Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Leah Noyd was found in rural Nance County by a turkey hunter around 4:45 p.m.

She was hungry, dehydrated and suffering from exposure, the sheriff’s office said.

Noyd had been missing since early this week.

On Wednesday, the sheriff’s office said she left her vehicle, and authorities were searching for her between Fullerton and Genoa.

When she went missing, the sheriff’s office said Noyd was in a serious, life-threatening situation.

On Thursday, officials reported Noyd was in a vehicle in the Albion area. Authorities said Noyd was found near that car.

The Nance County Sheriff’s Office said it is working on a criminal investigation. It is unknown why.
