LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Missouri man was arrested Thursday night after a high-speed chase through multiple counties, the Nebraska State Patrol says.

Around 11:10 p.m., a trooper tried pulling over a Volkswagen Jetta for speeding on Interstate 80 near Grand Island.

The driver, 23-year-old Zackary Rainey, pulled over to the shoulder but sped off as soon as the trooper got out of his vehicle.

Troopers chased Rainey through Hall, Hamilton and York counties.  He was going over 120 mph, according to the patrol.

Rainey exited I-80 and started heading south on Highway 81.

He then drove down a country road, on a private drive, through a front lawn and onto northbound Highway 81.

A trooper used his vehicle to bring Rainey to a stop, just south of the I-80 junction with Highway 81, the patrol said.

He was arrested on suspicion of flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, driving under suspension and resisting arrest.

Rainey was lodged in the York County Jail.
