Teen threatened to kill Grand Island officers and their families, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska police officers say a boy told them that they were going to die and that they would regret talking to him.
According to the Grand Island Police Department, this happened near West Second and Blaine Streets on Sunday a little after 1:30 a.m.
Officers were dispatched to the area after the 16-year-old started yelling at people, police said.
He got into a fighting stance while speaking with them and then took off running when they tried frisking him, officers said.
Even after officers caught him, police say he continued to resist commands by kicking and pulling away.
Police eventually contacted the boy’s mom when they found out how young he was and handed him over to her.
The teen continued making threats while being released, saying he would kill the officers and their families as well.
He’s facing several charges, including obstructing police, resisting arrest and terroristic threats.
