Monument in Lincoln’s Antelope Park makes National Register of Historic Places

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A monument in Lincoln has been added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The Nebraska State Historical Society announced Wednesday that War and Victory has joined the national list of properties that should be preserved.

The monument in Antelope Park, just west of Auld Pavilion, was a New Deal project.

It was made in 1936 by sculptor Ellis Burman.

The monument honors soldiers of the Revolutionary War, Civil War, Spanish-American War and World War I.
