More clouds, spotty showers on Easter Sunday
Saturday turned out to be a phenomenal day weather-wise, with plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the middle-70s.
Smoke may drift into the area from prescribed burns in Kansas on Saturday night. That would mainly be a concern for some southeast Nebraskans into early Sunday. Smoke concentrations for any affected areas will quickly diminish through Sunday morning.
More clouds will also arrive by Sunday morning, with an overnight low near 44° in Lincoln. If you’re heading out to any sunrise services, you’ll encounter temperatures in the mid-40s. Temperatures will climb into the 60s by lunchtime.
We expect partly to mostly cloudy skies on Easter Sunday. As a result, high temperatures may end up a few degrees cooler. That said, we should still reach the 70s in many areas.
We could also see some scattered showers on Easter. These will be moving from west to east. The latest versions of Stormcast suggest that the best chance of seeing rain closer to Lincoln would be in the afternoon and evening hours.
Some may stay completely dry, but it’d be a good idea to grab the rain gear when heading out just in case.
Scattered showers could linger early Monday morning in the southeast tip of the state. However, we’ll quickly dry out and skies will turn mostly sunny for the rest of Monday. Sunshine remains through most of next week. In fact, we’ll see many afternoons in the 80s next week.
