We’ll have clear skies Friday night. Winds will begin to increase out of the southwest at 7-14 mph with gusts to 25 mph. This will keep temperatures from falling too much. Lows will be in the upper 50°s.
A sunny, warm, and windy Saturday coming to southeast Nebraska. It is going to feel more like a late July day than the first day of May as temperatures top out around 90° in Lincoln. Lower 90°s will be possible for Grand Island, Ord, Greeley, and Kearney. Winds will be out of the southwest 12-23 mph with gusts to 38 mph.
A cold front will approach the area Sunday. Ahead of the front, temperatures should be able to get back to the lower and middle 80°s. Clouds will be on the increase, especially during the afternoon. By evening, showers and a few thunderstorms will begin to develop along the cold front. They will slowly move to the east Sunday night.
Cooler air will return to the state for the first work week of May with highs struggling to reach 70° and lows in the 40°s.
