‘More mad than scared’: Lincoln woman searching for those behind hit-and-run
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln woman is looking for answers after a car crashed into her parked car, then drove off.
Cheri Miller said she heard the crash as it happened Saturday afternoon outside her house near 48th and Knox streets.
“I had just gotten out of the shower, and I heard it,” she said. “The first thought was, ‘Oh my God, that’s my car.'”
Miller said her neighbors were outside to see the crash.
She said the car was coming down Knox Street upward of 60 mph.
“One of them was hanging out the window, came flying around this corner and slammed right into my car,” she said. “And they got over here, and they switched drivers.”
Miller said she is “more mad than scared.”
“I’m glad that no one was sitting in the car, no one got hurt,” she said. “But it’s just the whole idea that somebody did that, and there’s no respect.”
Now, Miller is limited to where she can go due to the damage to the car.
“I’d like to go to Kearney, Nebraska City,” she said. “I have family, you know, both places, and I’m afraid to leave town with the car.”
Miller said her next steps are working with the Lincoln Police Department on finding those responsible, and also looking to see if there is any other lasting damage to her car.
