More scattered storm chances

Wednesday was another very warm day, and some were able to pick up some rain from a few pop-up thunderstorms. A hit-or-miss storm is not out of the question on Wednesday evening, but we’re otherwise mostly dry.

More scattered rain will be possible overnight and into Thursday morning. Again, the scattered nature of the rain means that some will miss out. It’ll be mild, with temperatures falling into the middle-60s for overnight lows.

Stormcast Thursday Morning

More scattered storms will be possible on Thursday. The data has consistently been pointing toward a greater coverage of storms on Thursday afternoon. Even so, there still could be some locations that miss out.

Stormcast Thursday Afternoon

As far as rain totals are concerned, we’ll see locally heavy amounts upwards of 1″. But again, that only occurs in select locations. We’re probably not looking at a widespread washout.

Temperatures will still be warm on Thursday afternoon. We’re forecasting a high near 88° in Lincoln with a south and southeast flow at 10-20 mph.

Thursday Forecast

While temperatures have the potential to reach the upper-80s for just about everyone, rain-cooled air will branch out from storms that do form. This will cool off temperatures for those nearby.

Stormcast Temperatures Thursday Afternoon

More scattered rain chances stick around on Friday and Saturday before things start to settle down on Sunday and into next week. The extended forecast also appears very warm, with lots of 90s on the 10-Day Outlook.
