An upper level low in eastern South Dakota, a shortwave and cold all came together this afternoon to produce heavy thunderstorms with many of those containing strong rotation with tornado warnings issued. Storms could remain a threat until later tonight with the possibility of scattered storms returning on Sunday. By Monday a large area of high pressure will settle into the mid-section of the country bringing us sunshine and a warming trend throughout next week and beyond.
