More storms in southeast Nebraska late tonight
Clouds are fleeting early this morning from the backside of that strong system that tracked right through Nebraska, bringing strong wind and storms. Storms are still in the forecast, along with some snow mixing in for some later.
Most of us in eastern Nebraska eager to enjoy more sun and less wind. Today features both.
By tonight though, we’ll see the influence of a couple systems drive rain and snow through Nebraska. Wednesday evening, rain will first begin in the Panhandle and track due east before transitioning to snow like you see below.
Meanwhile storms will be firing up again south of I-80 overnight into early Thursday, with lingering showers Thursday morning.
The Storm Prediction Center has southeast Nebraska – including Lincoln – under a Marginal risk for severe storms to drop hail up to the size of quarters and a few isolated gusts as strong as 60 mph late Wednesday night.
The snow out west should not amount to much – most expecting less than an inch into Thursday morning this time around.
Temperatures in southeast Nebraska will be in the lower 70s Wednesday, but much cooler after that.
By Saturday, high temperatures will be in the low to mid 50s, below average by about 10 degrees. But then we start to warm back up Sunday before more scattered storm chances next week.
