More than 1,000 Nebraska Special Olympics athletes competing in Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Sun Valley Lanes hosted the state-level Special Olympics bowling competition Friday.
This was the first of two Special Olympics events in Lincoln this weekend. Basketball starts Saturday at North Star and Northeast high schools.
Between the two events, over 1,000 athletes will compete.
There were 175 athletes just at Sun Valley on Friday, and bowlers also competed at Hollywood Bowl.
The bowlers play three games, and their combined score determines their placement for the day.
Since this was the state championship, the athletes had to qualify in regional rounds to compete.
