LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Amongst the country’s chaos, Lincoln’s winter operations were active Thursday morning.

At midnight, 20 material spreaders began applying salt pre-wet with brine to arterial streets and bus and school routes.

According to the National Weather Service, the Hazardous Weather Outlook predicts light snow, drizzle, and patchy fog.  This can create slick roads and reduced visibility for the morning commute.

Drivers should be alert for slick spots, especially on untreated surfaces.
