Morning Interview: Lincoln Christian football coach previews Spirit Sword matchup
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Christian football coach Kurt Earl stopped by Channel 8 Friday morning to preview the Spirit Sword game against Lincoln Lutheran.
And this year’s game has a little more meaning. Earl’s wife, Da’Nelle, is battling brain cancer, and the game is being dedicated in her honor.

Both schools sold shirts in support of Da’Nelle, and Earl said over 1,100 shirts have been purchased.
“The numbers don’t really matter, it’s the thought,” he said. “I’m just humbled, honored, Da’Nelle is humbled and honored and encouraged.”
Lincoln Christian kicks off against Lincoln Lutheran around 7 p.m. at Aldrich Field.
