Morning showers/storms will clear out this Fourth of July

Happy Fourth of July! We’ll try to dodge a few showers and storms through the morning hours before clearing out later today. Morning temperatures will fall to the middle and upper 60s with some sun trying to poke through, until we get a lot more sun by the afternoon and evening of this holiday.

The morning round should be rather quick to move in and out, with weak thunderstorms only bringing a brief downpour and some isolated thunder to some.

Highs will be rather cool for this time of year in the upper 70s and lower 80s. Clear skies for the later portions of today should set up for a fantastic night of fireworks.

On Friday, we’ll stay quiet with mostly sunny conditions and temperatures only slightly warming. Yet again by Saturday, we’ll be watching for another round of potential thunderstorms.

4th Weekend

The latest update from the Storm Prediction Center highlights practically the entire state for the potential to see a couple storms become borderline severe (up to 60 mph winds and quarter-sized hail) on Saturday.

What we’ll be looking forward to is the rather quiet pattern next week looks to bring. Knock on wood for that trend to hold true. And again, wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday!
