Mostly dry through a warming trend
Patchy areas of fog have developed early Tuesday, largely just north of Lincoln toward the Platte River, in northeast Nebraska and toward Holdrege and North Platte. That fog will clear as the sun comes up and has a couple hours to work at it.
A Dense Fog Advisory was just issued for some counties in south-central Nebraska that may see the fog take a little longer to clear out. That advisory will be in effect until 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.
We may see some areas of fog again Wednesday morning as well.
Temperatures and humidity will be warm yet tolerable on this first day of school for some. LPS kindergarten, 6th and 9th graders start today with everyone else joining in tomorrow.
Winds will stay light throughout the day.
High temperatures will still be below average for another day, but we continue warming this week beyond Tuesday.
Clouds will eventually clear by this afternoon, with a small chance at spot shower developing in the evening just before sundown. Been a while since we’ve been without some sort of risk of severe weather somewhere in the state – today is now day 2 of that break in severe weather threats.
Hottest days this week now appear to be both Friday and Saturday. Those days will likely have a heat index back in the lower 100s.
No chance at precipitation through the weekend looks to be all that much, so small chances here and there are all you’ll find in the forecast for now.
