A woman and her son were able to escape their pickup truck before it caught fire Saturday morning in North Lincoln.
It happened just after 8:30 Saturday morning near North 25th and T Streets.
Lincoln Fire & Rescue extinguished the fire before it could spread to nearby buildings.
Investigators say a fuel lining got separated, and the heat of the engine caused the fire.
The truck’s owner, Richard King, attempted to get the truck out of the road.
"I got in the driver’s seat to back up and I notice again the flames started poking up out of the top the hood by the windshield," King said. "So then I just… shut it off and I hopped out and told her back up, it’s on fire."
LFR reports nobody was injured.
