Motorcyclist killed when colliding with deer in eastern Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — An Ashland man was killed when his motorcycle struck a deer in Cass County on Sunday.

Sheriff Robert Sorenson says deputies were called to an accident on 238th Street, a few miles northeast of Greenwood.

Authorities think 64-year-old Michael Kellogg was riding south on a 2002 Honda motorcycle when a deer crossed his path, causing the crash.

Kellogg was taken to an Omaha hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The sheriff says alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
