Much cooler for the rest of the week

After a round of very heavy rain on the evening of the 4th, we’re just left with areas of very light rain on the morning of the 5th. Skies will be cloudy to start, but by late Wednesday afternoon/evening, skies will turn mostly clear.

We will be dodging some scattered showers as long we have cloud cover. That said, it will not be raining at every point, and additional accumulations will be little to none.

Wednesday Precipitation Potential

Winds have shifted out of the north behind Tuesday night’s storms, and they are delivering a much cooler airmass. We’re forecasting highs in the middle to upper-70s around Lincoln. The humidity will fall through the day as well.

Wednesday Forecast

In fact, the humidity will be at its lowest for the foreseeable future on Thursday. Thursday will be a very nice day outdoors, with a high near 80° and the coveted low humidity.

Thursday Forecast

While Thursday features mostly sunny skies, there is an outside chance of a shower or two trying to sneak in from the west on Thursday evening. Most of these will remain west of Lincoln. They will also be battling a dry air influence, so any rain from this won’t be all that significant.

Lincoln’s next best chance to see heavier rain from actual thunderstorms will be on Friday. Until then, we’re looking at either mostly dry conditions or “nuisance rain” events. We also take a break from the intense summer heat. High temperatures will be below average through the rest of the workweek.
