Much warmer start to Friday, rain chance first part of the weekend
Each morning this week, we’ve had temperatures fall to the teens in Lincoln. We had wind chills in the single digits, too. But Friday has been the exception.
Friday morning, many spots were 20-30 degrees WARMER than the previous several days. Winds and some cloud cover have kept temperatures in the upper 40s and low 50s to start out.
With partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies, we’ll se a similar day to yesterday. Highs will be in the lower 60s and above average! It’ll also be dry for Friday, but we’re looking into a small chance for some light rain by Saturday.
Some energy comes our way, but there are questions as to how much we’ll really see to this round. There will be some dry air to contend with. However, Stormcast shows some light rain moving in by Saturday morning and fizzling out by the afternoon. This may fizzle out before reaching Lincoln, with better chances north of I-80 in central Nebraska throughout early Saturday.
While we’ll be watching for that round to try its best, we’ve also got eyes to the skies over East Lansing on Saturday.
The next Husker football game is away against Michigan State. The only weather factors of note are mostly cloudy skies and temperatures warming throughout the game to the lower 50s. Should be a fine game, weather-wise!
Daylight Saving Time will come to an end Sunday, meaning we’ll need to set back clocks an hour Saturday night into Sunday. So the sun will set just before 6:30 p.m. on Friday, but then set closer to 5:15 p.m. by Sunday evening.
Other than that, the other chances for rain look small. Sunday night into Monday, better chances look to remain north of our area. Then there will be another slight chance for some light rain Tuesday into Wednesday. But we’ll be warmer for some time to come!
Have a great weekend.
