Multiple hammocks stolen from Lincoln apartment complex

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Multiple hammocks were stolen from the Gatehouse Rows apartment complex last week, and a suspect has still not been found.

Surveillance video shows a person walking back and forth between the hammocks around 5:30 a.m. on June 11.

The maintenance director, Marc Brous, said he and his team were going to fix a swing behind the office. When they arrived, they noticed the hammocks were missing.

Brous said the site is a regular hangout spot for children from other neighborhoods.

The complex is affordable housing, and Brous said the loss of hammocks affects many people.

“There’s 89 units here and quite a few kids,” he said. “So, there’s times you see 20 kids out here playing, and now they’re not.”

The complex plans to replace the hammocks and enhance its security measures.
