Multiple mountain lion sightings reported in southwest Nebraska town
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Authorities in southwest Nebraska say they’ve received credible reports of mountain lion sightings.
The Furnas County Sheriff’s Office said an adult mountain lion with cubs has been seen roaming northwest Beaver City.
The sheriff’s office is urging residents to keep pets and children in view at all times during any sort of outdoor activity.

Report any sightings in as much detail as you can by calling either the sheriff’s office or 911.
The sheriff’s office said it will report any new findings as soon as possible.
Mountain lions have reestablished their presence in Nebraska in recent years.

They have breeding populations in four areas but are known to roam far from home.
If you see a mountain lion, the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission says you should back away slowly if possible.
Cougars rarely attack humans, according to the Mountain Lion Foundation.
