National Donut Day yields sweet deals from local businesses

Friday is National Donut Day, and local businesses have some sweet deals to celebrate.

This morning, all Super Saver locations gave away free glazed donuts to the first 200 customers through the doors starting at 7 a.m.

The rest of the day, any dozen donuts at Super Saver stores are $5.

The bakers came in well before the sun came up to prep for this special day, and they say seeing the happy reactions from customers makes it all worth it.

“All the kids that come in are always smiling because they get a free donut, and can eat it in the store as they come back here to get their dozen donuts for their parents,” said Brian Fielder, Bakery Trainer for Super Saver stores.

Several other locations around Lincoln have sweet specials going on in honor of National Donut 
Day, like Lamar’s Donuts, Hy-Vee, and Krispy Kreme.
