National Weather Service confirms tornado in Southern Gage County

An EF-1 tornado touched down in southern Gage County before crossing into Kansas on Saturday afternoon.

 

Wymore, Neb. (KLKN) – The National Weather Service (NWS) office in Omaha confirmed that an EF-1 tornado occurred on Saturday afternoon in southern Gage County. The confirmation is based on damage surveys conducted on Sunday.

The tornado started at 5:40 p.m. Saturday about seven miles south-southwest of Wymore. The tornado eventually crossed state lines into Kansas before dissipating at 5:53 p.m.. The tornado had peak winds of around 104 mph, giving it an EF-1 rating. The overall path length was approximately 4.1 miles.
