National Weather Service confirms tornado near York; two injured

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down near York and injured two on Tuesday.

Destruction can be seen in National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration photos taken near Lushton, which is south of York.

The EF-2 tornado traveled 7.6 miles with wind speeds up to 115 miles per hour, according to the NWS storm survey.

Two people were injured in the tornado’s path, according to the survey.
