National Weather Service Office in Valley evacuated due to flood waters, weather radios in eastern Nebraska not working

If you have an All-Hazard Weather Radio in eastern Nebraska you might or will find it is not working.   The National Weather Service had to evacuate their facility in Valley, Nebraska when a levee broke. The power was turned off and staff went to the Hastings office to cover our area. The equipment to transmit to the radio’s in the field located at their office went silent. So at time time, you won’t have weather radio coverage. You will see on your radio that lights flash and it could make a beeping noise. It is not known at this time when they will get back into their office to power their equipment.

As always, you can get the latest weather alerts on Channel 8 Eyewitness News or on our website at klkntv.com
