LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska Department of Agriculture has opened submissions for its annual poster contest.

NDA wants students to help highlight the agriculture industry with the poster contest. All Nebraska students in first to sixth grade can compete in the contest. The theme of this year’s contest is “Nebraska Agriculture Makes the Good Life Great.”

“Nebraska agriculture makes the good life great in so many ways,” said NDA Director Steve Wellman. “Nebraska has an abundant water supply, excellent soil and a favorable climate to support a wide variety of crops and livestock. Nebraskans are the best people, too, working hard to keep the state growing.”

NDA divides the poster contest into three categories, first and second-grade students; third and fourth-grade students; and fifth and sixth-grade students. NDA says entries must be submitted to their offices by March 1.

During National Ag Week, March 20-26, NDA will announce the winners of this year’s contest. NDA will feature the winning posters on its website and in promotional materials and publications.

Students can find contest rules and entry forms at nda.nebraska.gov/kids.
