Near normal on Monday, more rain chances to come on and off

Many of us saw new, record-breaking low temperatures this morning. Lincoln ended up breaking the old record in 1996 of 26°, dropping to 21° early on Sunday. Every one of those cities you see that is circled achieved new records for April 23rd.

Not too much to talk about through southeast Nebraska tonight. Conditions will be calm, but partly cloudy like what we’ve been seeing all day. Temperatures will fall into the upper and middle 30s Monday morning as winds shift to be out of the south but remain light.

A Freeze Warning has been issued for Sunday night into Monday again, even with temperatures expected to not be as cold. Conditions will still be suitable for a freeze, specifically in the counties shaded in purple starting by 10 p.m. Sunday through 9 a.m. Monday.

High temperatures despite another somewhat cloudy day should be near normal. With the return of some southerly flow, warmer air will influence our region for the day on Monday. With that, there’s an ever-so-slight chance to see a couple spotty showers here and there through a period starting on Monday.

Skycast Tomorrow

One version of Stormcast shows this: light precipitation possible by the evening, but not lasting long nor amounting to much of anything. This trend will continue. Throughout the week, the chances for rain are not great, but they do exist.

Our best chance for some rain looks to come by Friday, with a similar feel to each day this week leading up to then. We’ll be bouncing around the 60s for some time, mostly cooler than normal as we close out the month of April. Hopefully our April showers will bring May flowers!
