Near normal Thursday, with mixed precipitation chances into the weekend
Following a mainly dry work week, there are a few chances for winter weather in far SE Nebraska through Saturday night. Thursday’s high temperatures will warm to near normal, before dipping below average on Friday.
Thursday we will have partly sunny skies throughout the daytime hours, with a mix of sun and clouds into the evening. Winds pick up slightly from the NNE at 5-15 mph, with gusts up to 25.
Following a warmer Wednesday, highs in SE Nebraska will warm to near normal. Temperatures will be slightly cooler west of the Tri-Cities.
Overnight Thursday into Friday morning there is a chance for light rain in far SE Nebraska. While most look to stay dry, there is a small chance for for freezing rain into early Friday morning. Models now have the SE corner of the state just catching the edge of the possible precipitation.
The second round of mixed precipitation will arrive in the afternoon and early evening on Friday, this time bringing a better chance for Lincoln and other SE areas to see light rain and a possible dusting.
Temperatures take a brief dip into the upper 30s on Friday, before warming back to near normal for the weekend. On and off chances for mixed precipitation will take us through the start of the weekend. A dry weather period returns starting Sunday into the end of the next work week.
