Near-perfect, pleasant day before a very warm weekend
TOP TEN DAY ALERT! We’ll admit it will be on the cooler side early in the morning, but the winds relax and remain light for a fantastic day unfolding this Friday.
Temperatures will climb to around 70 degrees in eastern Nebraska, slightly cooler toward the Missouri River.
On the other side of the state, warmer spring temperatures will near the upper 70s and 80s.
That warm air spreads east for us this weekend. Temperatures will be in the lower 80s both Saturday and Sunday with more wind.
Wind gusts out of the south on Saturday will be up around 30-40 mph, and then a front will drive northerly winds around 20-30 mph on Sunday.
The one thing to be melancholy about beyond a near-perfect day on Friday is that there isn’t much rain in the forecast for the next 10 days.
And we need it! We’ve barely seen over a tenth of an inch for April so far.
But looking into some of the longer-range models and what they have for rain through next Thursday (April 17) – it just isn’t much.
There’s a small chance late Sunday into very early Monday for a little rain, and then more small chances around Wednesday into Thursday and maybe again by Easter.
