Nebraska AARP, BBB and Alzheimer’s Association host brain and budget wellness event

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska AARP, the Better Business Bureau and the Alzheimer’s Association hosted a holistic wellness event Wednesday.

The free event at Southeast Community College supplied attendees with information on everything from scam prevention to brain activity.

The Nebraska BBB held a session on scam prevention, showing community members recent fraud trends at the state, regional and national levels.

The Nebraska chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association talked about healthy living for the brain and body.

Julie Chyil, programs director at the organization, said the event’s goal was to improve the community’s health.

“Several of the presenters shared how being involved, maybe volunteering, being active, engaging with your neighbors, that all impacts your brain health,” she said.
