Nebraska Army National Guard unit returns home after deployment

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Nebraska Army National Guard unit returned home after a ten-month deployment in Eastern Africa.

The 67th Brigade served diligently on mission responding to crises, supporting operations, and protecting the United States.

The heartwarming scene took place early Friday afternoon at Lincoln’s guard base.

Families awaited their loved ones on the chilly ramp, cheering for the plane as it landed.

The emotional setting was visible with tears, joy and laughter as troops embraced their families.

Returning guard member Dave Hron met his granddaughter for the first time.

A special ceremony was held for troops after their arrival, thanking the servicemen and women for their diligence in the line of duty.

The ceremony ended with prayer and well wishes for the troops’ return to civilian life.
