Nebraska assistant basketball coach Nate Loenser invited to future head coach event
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska assistant men’s basketball coach Nate Loenser on Monday was invited to the 2025 Future Head Coach Power Lunch.
The event takes place during the week of the Final Four in San Antonio, and features 75 assistant coaches from around the country.
It provides them with an opportunity to meet with athletic directors, associate athletic directors and search firms.
Last year’s class included 10 assistant coaches who went on to get hired as head coaches at Division I schools.
Loenser is in his fourth season with the Husker men’s basketball program, helping Nebraska improve its defense in each of the last three seasons.
His help includes leading Nebraska’s individual skill development programs and opponent scouting.
Loenser also helps with game planning and recruiting. He is credited with helping four players earn All-Big Ten honors, including two in 2024.
Before joining the Huskers, he spent the previous five seasons with the Chicago Bulls, including three seasons as an assistant coach for Fred Hoiberg and Jim Boylen.
The Huskers are currently 14-8 on the season, including four ranked wins.
